In spite of (or perhaps because of) the lack of adult supervision, the young magicians thrived. The group soon dominated the young magic scene in California and beyond for 30 years. Even though the group disbanded in the 1980s, its members still represent some of the most creative artists in the magic world today. Filmmaker Shelly Jenkins has created a documentary about the magic club that never grew up. This is the story of the Long Beach Mystics.
