The magician approaches a spectator and tells him that he looks like 35. While the spectator is still puzzled why a stranger tries to estimate his age, the magician takes out a deck of cards and shows that there are numbers written on the backs from 1 to 52. (The deck is randomly shuffled so that the faces and the numbers on the backs are mixed.) He explains a little game he plays by guessing which number a person might pick and he is absolutely sure to get the '35' from the first spectator. As a number is already announced, the spectator is allowed to name any playing card. The card is removed and shown that it indeed has the number 25 written on the back. The procedure is repeated with a second and third spectator, but this time a pl aying card is named while the spectators have to choose any number. When these two cards are removed, they again perfectly match!
